“Believe in”is the phrasal verb to use when talking about one’s belief and acceptance of a certain concept or even person:
e.g.I know Naruto can defeat his enemies to become Hokage of his village—I believe in him!

On the other hand,to simply“believe”—as opposed to believe in—someone is to trust his/her words regarding something:
e.g.I believe Naruto when he says that he’ll bring Sasuke back.
另一方面，如果是单纯地「believe」而不是believe「in」某人，则是指信任他对于某事的说法：
例：我相信鸣人所说，他会把佐助给带回来。
When asking a friend if she thinks that ghosts truly exist,in other words,we should use the question:Do you believe in ghosts?Note that“ghosts”is plural because we’re asking about all ghosts,not just one.
换句话说，当询问朋友是否认为真的有鬼时，
我们应该这么问：Do you believe in ghosts?。
要注意的是，「ghosts」是复数，
因为我们问的是所有的鬼，而不只是一个鬼。
